This is dedicated to the memory of John Norton. John's dedication to our club, and love of the outdoors will not be forgotten.

Do you dream all winter about going surf fishing or getting out on the boat on Cape Cod Bay? Are you looking for better ways to catch Striper and Blue? We're looking for those tips, and pictures of your adventures.

We will provide the average saltwater fisherman with web sites that will run the gamut from tidal info to charter boats and striper tournaments. As we go along, we will try to put more and more information in this space.

SALTWATER CORNER - Upcoming Meeting & Fishing Event

The first Saltwater Corner event is scheduled for Sunday August 18, the plan is:

We presently have two boats available for the day, we will launch at Bard Island and either fish from boats or shuttle people out onto the island and from there people can shore fish, picnic, swim, etc. So, with two boats we will have limited boat space for fishing from the boats.

If anyone with a boat is available would like to join in on the trip that would be great. Give me a call or Email and we can add you to the event.

We will meet at the HRG parking lot and trailer the boats, caravan and/or convoy down to Stonington Ct (about 90-minute travel time) at Bard Island boat ramp.

We will offer two separate departure times. One group will leave the Club at 8:00 am. The second group will depart the Club at 10:00 am. By offering two departure times some people may prefer to fish morning and into the afternoon and some may wish to fish the afternoon up until evening.

You should plan on bringing your own fishing gear, bait, equipment along with your choice of food and drink.

It is expected that all attendees will help the boat captains with gas and travel expenses.

DEEP SEA FISHING TRIP - FRIDAY OCTOBER 4th, 2024

There has been quite a bit of interest in the deep sea fishing trip so we tentatively booked Friday October 4th for the trip. This will be a 10 hour fishing excursion out of Seabrook, NH on Eastmans boat. Price is $100 per person and includes fishing trip, rod rental if needed, pool entry which will have first, second and third prizes, and tip for the mates. The only extra would be to have your fish filleted which runs about $2 per fish. Pete will plan to leave a sign-up sheet at the bar and one with Lenny in the garage. All we ask is that you please pay for your trip at time of sign up. We will plan to leave this for HRGC club members and their family/friends until Labor Day weekend and if at that time if there is not enough takers, we will open it up to other clubs.
